Sacred-Water.jpgBanning the Use of Plastic Bags!

Thanks to the Ones who put time, effort and energy, Seattle City Council just unanimously voted yes on an ordinance that bans single-use plastic bags in Seattle.

Plastic bags are something that we use for a few minutes but spend hundreds of years in Puget Sound, breaking down into smaller and smaller pieces that marine wildlife mistake for food. In April of 2010, a beached gray whale washed ashore in West Seattle and was found with a ton of garbage in its stomach. Most of that garbage was plastic, including 20 plastic bags.

Email the City Council to thank them for taking action to protect Puget Sound wildlife.

It is not easy to live mindfully in this world, yet it is possible and necessary!
